The Basics
Basically, when you've reached level 40. Focus on building your B10 Giants Team. Many people pay crystals to reach B10 to avoid building a team for B8/B9. So start with B10 Giant > B10 Dragon >TOA
I recommend, using your B10 team for Arena Defense for time being.
There are many guides out there on what monsters are suitable for B10. Your main goal is to farm RUNES.
Obtaining the right monsters is purely based on luck. It can go either way but of course the more you open a Mystical Scroll the odds are better.
You can have all the monsters in the game but none matters unless you have the right RUNES and that is when the End Game begins. Endless farming for a Godly Rune is about the same or less chances landing a 5nat and even then Its difficult to get the right sub stats to increase.
While doing all this, do not forget to farm for Glory Points. Use them only for Devilmon and Upgrading your Glory Buildings. Most commonly upgraded is Speed/Hp/Defense and Energy if you play a lot.
This is just the base guideline, hopefully then you have figured out what you wanna focus on according to your play style.
More Advanced
The Guardian level consist of mostly experienced players. Meaning they have been playing for a long time and they have observed and experienced different strategy to win. It takes way more than just putting on runes and good monsters in the field. These guys know the names, skills and weaknesses of just about every good monster. It is all about Critical Thinking.
Everyone is different, so this is my Critical Thinking.
For Arena Defense, I go by YDCB's method. Build a team and auto run it on arena. You'll able to see if its any good or not. This method is mostly good for HP/Tanky teams, unless you have a Speed/Burst team that can withstand hits.
For Arena Offence, That's when I do my Critical Thinking. It's difficult to explain but to give an example If I was fighting a Fire Team. I would use a Wind Tank to Tank hits, a very good healer fire/water, a buffer fire/water and a damage dealer fire/water.
If it was a mix matched, I would bring a reviver instead of a tank.
Basically, to be more advanced, know the skills of every monster you face. For example, Chloe's shield/immunity and Bella/Darion's Armor Break. So, you would know how to counter those skills.
As for me, I use 1 shot kills with Armor Break assist. My bella puts on Armor Break and I 1 shot kill using Rage/Blade Runes. Other than that I use my trusty Arena Defense team and Auto Arena Offense looking for flaws I can fix to improve my defense.
